Sta-Tuned FAQ About Guitar TuningQuestion: Do I have to alter my guitar in any way in order to install any of your Sta-Tuned products? Answer: No. Question: Will my guitar stay in tune permanently? Answer: No. It will only stay in tune while you are playing, moving the Bigsby® installed vibrato, or dive bombing. Temperature and humidity will still affect your guitar over time. Question: In what stores can I buy your Sta-Tuned Products? Answer: Sta-Tuned products are only sold direct to the customer on a money back guarantee through this web site. Question: Can I install your Sta-Tuned products on my Stratocaster or Telecaster? Answer: Not for the Stratocaster at this time, however this will be coming soon. You can install a Bigsby® Vibrato on a Telecaster and keep it in tune with a Sta-Tuned Vibrato Fine-Tuner and String-Lock. Question: Why does my Bigsby Vibrato make my guitar go out of tune? Answer: When you use the Bigsby, you are moving the strings through the nut microscopically and because of friction, the strings are individually not returning to exactly where they were. This happens whether you stretch or loosen the strings with the Bigsby. If you prevent the strings from moving altogether at the nut with our String-Lock your guitar will stay in tune while you are playing. Note: You must install our String-Lock accompanied with a Fine-Tuner behind the bridge. Question: How easy is it to change strings on the Vibrato Fine-Tuner? Answer: Since you no longer have to wrap the strings around the Bigsby® installed shaft, it’s a piece of cake! Question: Is there another name for a Bigsby® Vibrato? Answer: A Bigsby® Vibrato is actually a Bigsby® Vibrato Tailpiece. A Vibrato might also be incorrectly referred to as a Tremolo, Trem Bar, or a Whammy Bar. Question: What is the difference between a Vibrato and a Tremolo? Answer: The terms vibrato and tremolo are sometimes used interchangeably, although the strict definitions of each describe them as separate effects: vibrato is a periodic variation in the pitch (frequency) of a musical note, whereas tremolo usually refers to periodic variations in the volume (amplitude) of a musical note. Question: How do I know whether I have a USA made Bigsby® Vibrato Tailpiece or a Bigsby® "Licensed" Vibrato Tailpiece? Answer: A licensed Bigsby® Vibrato may have a model number of B30, B50, B60, B70, B500, or B700. In addition, If your Bigsby is Licensed the word "Licensed" will be clearly visible on your Bigsby® installed Vibrato. If you are unsure please contact us. Question: When you change strings, do you have to cut the ferrule from the end of the string? Answer: No. You just drop the ferrule down into the slot and tune up. Question: How do I know which size String-Release I should buy for my guitar? Answer: The measurement, in inches, is the distance between the “e” strings at the nut on your guitar. SMALL = 1 3/8" MEDIUM = 1 1/2" LARGE = 1 9/16" |
